This race is dedicated to honor all the men and women of our military past and present. The major objective is to have large enthusiastic crowd support along the course.

Korean war hero, Fred McGee, will be our distinguished guest of honor. Paralyzed vets will participate in the race in wheel chairs and hand cycles. The army is donating a Humvee for use in the race.

• All military personnel and veterans will have their entry fee waived. Please fill out the entry form and include branch of service, past or present.

• Military personnel and veterans will receive red, white, and blue race numbers to distinguish them from the other participants, a free banquet entry/meal, and t-shirt.

• All local reserve units have been contacted and have offered their full support and participation.

• All monies received over and above race expenses will be donated to Paralyzed Veterans of America. As of May 1, 2011, the race will have been responsible for $22,000 in donations to PVA.

For 2011 . . . Three Rivers USA Track and Field 10K Championship

The Veterans Day 10K race is now the Three Rivers USA Track and Field 10K Championship! To be eligible for championship prize money you must be a member of Three Rivers Association. Find out how to be a member.

Awards

• OVERALL (Men and Women) = 1st, 2nd and 3rd

• MASTERS (Men and Women) = 1st and 2nd

• AGE GROUPS (Men and Women) two deep in each.
  19 & under, 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79. One award 80 and over. Plaques awarded to top runners and walkers.

Course

The USAT&F certified course begins at Bridge Street Middle School at 8:30 AM and will follow Rt. 40 west to finish line at WesBanco Arena. Aid stations, police patrolled, plus medical aid available. Run on the last 6.2 miles of the Wheeling 20K course.

Race Start

8:30 a.m. from Bridge Street Middle School. Parking is available. After the finish, bus transportation will be provided back to the start.

Post-Race Banquet

The Banquet inside the WesBanco Arena (Get Directions), will follow the race starting at 11:30 AM. Additional banquet tickets can be purchased for $10.50 at the registration table at Bridge Street School and on race day at WesBanco Arena ticket office.
