Celebrate the 41st annual running of America's only 15-mile race. It is a scenic and challenging course, starting at West Virginia's majestic State Capitol. The course then heads through downtown, rolling through the beautiful hillside neighborhoods and along Charleston's riverfront.
What You Get
Participants will receive a special goody bag with goodies inside of it. You will also receive a B-Tech long-sleeve performance T-shirt.
Runners and walkers who finish the race will receive a finisher's medal. We will have sports drinks and water, and plenty of pizza at Laidley Field. Post-race massages will be available.
The Frontier Communications Pasta Party will be held at the Charleston Civic Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30. Race participants will receive a Pasta Dinner ticket in their goody bag. There is a $5 charge for guests, family and friends are welcome to attend with their runner(s).

Cash Awards
Duplication of awards will not be permitted for First Charlestonian and First West Virginian; in other words, a runner will be entitled to only one cash award. Any questions concerning the cash awards will be determined by the Charleston Distance Run Committee, in its sole discretion. Kids Race (Friday)
While Mom and Dad are picking up packets their kids can participate in the Charleston Distance Run Children's Fun Run scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday evening. Participation in the event, for children ages 4 - 12 years, is free. Races begin on Clendenin Street between Quarrier and Lee streets across from the entrance of the Charleston Town Center.
Free Runners' Clinic (Friday)
The runners' clinic takes place from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening in West Virginia Room 104 of the Civic Center. Jamie Summerlin, who recently completed a run from coast to coast in just 100 days to raise funds and awareness for veterans and wounded soldiers, will be the featured speaker.
