Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to guarantee participation in the Ride for Life. It is a must for those who want T-shirts. The preregistration deadline is Saturday, May 31, 2008.
Sign-In/Same-Day Registration // Participants can sign-in at the Gallipolis City Park beginning at 7:30am on Ride Day. Riders who depart before the designated start time will assume responsibility for themselves and may not receive sag support.
Riders should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the departure time.
Regular Fees On/Before May 31:
- $20 - For Individuals
- For Families+ first member $20, each additional member = $15 each
(this is reserved for spouse-child/parent relations)
Regular Fees+ After Saturday May 31 and on day of event:
- $25 - Individuals
- For Families+ first member $25, each additional member = $20 each
- Fees Include // Food/drink at stops, a route map, safety coverage, a "Ride for Life" T-shirt, and post ride meal. Additional donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated but not required to ride.
Routes: There are three routes to choose from; 15, 35, or 62 (100k) miles. The Tour routes consist of rolling hilly to flat paved roads through scenic southern Ohio farmland. There are several sections of climb to be expected. The 15 and 62 mile routes form a loop that leaves from and returns to Gallipolis City Park. The 35 mile route follows the 62 mile route but ends at the rest stop at Bob Evans Farm and Homestead in Rio Grande. Our sag vehicles will shuttle riders from Bob Evans back to Gallipolis as needed.
Safety Coverage: Sponsored, planned and supported by members of the Ohio Valley Bicycle Club, the "Ride for Life" will be a safety conscious ride. Helmets are required to participate +no exceptions. This is a fully supported ride with rest stops and SAG vehicles circulating throughout the course to pick up stranded cyclists or provide assistance in case of emergency.
To Benefit: All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, Gallia County Relay for Life. The ride is sponsored by the OVBC. The American Cancer Society is not responsible for this event.
