1999 Huntington Bank Fairmont 5K & 10K
Cruising the streets of Fairmont in 1999
Now in its 22nd year, this race (formerly known as the Greater Fairmont 10K) is West Virginia's oldest 10K! The course, legendary for its challenging hills, starts on 12th St. and ends with a fast 1/4 lap to the finish line on the track of Fairmont's East-West Stadium. In addition to great trophies, T-shirts, refreshments & random prizes, entrants are entitled to a free pass to municipal swimming pools & the Nautilus Fitness Center.

5 & 10K Registration Pre-registration is $8.00 if postmarked no later than July 17, 2000. Pre-registration is strongly suggested, but if you do decide to run at a late date, registration facilities will be available at East West Stadium from 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. race day. Late registration charge is $10.00. Please register early to help eliminate race day confusion. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Start and finish: East West Stadium, 12th Street, Fairmont, WV.

Race check in: Race packets must be picked up at East West Stadium on race day from 7:00 to 8:45 a.m. Get there early, the race will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.

5 & 10K Course: The challenging race course will be run through the streets of Fairmont entirely on paved roads. The course is hilly with 4 water stops. Volunteers will be stationed throughout the course. Time splits will be given at the 1, 3 and 5 mile marks.

5 & 10K Awards: The top 3 men, top 3 women, and top 3 in each age category will win trophies. No duplication of awards. No cash prizes this year. Awards given in both 10K and 5K run. The 10K is part of the Morgantown Area Grand Prix series.

Raffles, shirts, swimming: The first 250 10K and 5K race applicants will receive a quality T-shirt. Free swimming after the race at the Wave-Tek poll for all registered runners. Show race number to enter pool. Several items will be randomly given away. The Country Club Health Center donated 2 none-month memberships (1 male, 1 female) for Marion County residents age 18 & older.

Refreshments: Finish line refreshments are plentiful for all, so do not hesitate to dig in and enjoy while the results are being tabulated.

1 Mile Fun Run: A 1 mile fun run will start simultaneously with the 10K. Running Medals will be awarded to the first 30 runners in the fun run. Fun run entry is $3.00
