THE PURPOSE: All proceeds benefit Literacy Volunteers America of Marion County (a United Way Agency), which provides free tutoring in reading, math, and English as a second language, as well as related services.

Friday, June 23, 2000: A used book & rummage sale will be held from 10am - 6pm at the registration site (the old school on 601 Locust Ave, Fairmont).
WHEN: Saturday, June 24, 2000.
- 7:00am: Registration
- 8:30am: 5K Run, 2.5K Race Walk & 2.5K Fun Run
- 9:15am: 15K Run (not a MAGP points race)
- 9:20am: Door Prizes & awards for 5K Run, Race Walk & Fun Run
- 11:00am: Pizza!
- 11:30am: Door Prizes & trophies for 15K Run
- Free Swimming - The Marion County Parks & Rec Commission is offering free swimming on June 24 for either Fairmont pool.
- Race participants need to show their bib number. The offer is also good for children of participants.
There's time to race both the 5K and 15K if you dare!

WHERE: Marion County Adult Education Center (the former Fifth Ward/White School), 601 Locust Avenue, Fairmont (near Fairmont State College) 15 minutes from I-79, parking at nearby businesses (LabCorp and Laughlin & Wade Optometrists)

Packet Pick-Up & Late Registration: Will be available during the book sale on Friday, June 23.
THE EVENTS: 5K and 15K Runs are wheel measured courses, featuring frequent scenery changes and gently rolling terrain with no long hills. (15K course will close at 11:15am)

5K Run: two loops through residential neighborhood,
passing by Fairmont Senior High School and Fifth Street Playground.
Trophies awarded to top three male & female overall and to top two
male & female finishers in eleven age groups: 12-Under, 13-15, 16-19,
20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-Over. (no
duplication)
2.5K Race Walk: on loop of 5K course (see above) Awards presented to top five male and female overall. (no age groups)
Fun Run: same course as Race Walk, Noncompetitive and untimed; ribbons awarded to all finishers.
15K Run: two loops, mostly on side streets, including Bell Run Rd., Sunset Dr., Prospect Ave., Ridgely Ave. & Cottage Ave., with water stops near 1,2,5,6 & 7 mile marks. Trophies awarded to top three male & female overall and to top three male & top two female finishers in five age groups: 14-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-Over. (no duplication; entrants must be 14 or older)

For I-79 North: Exit #137. Bear right on the exit
ramp. Merge left on Rt. 310 North. Follow 310 about 2
miles until it ends. Turn left on US 250 South. Go 1
block. Turn right at the traffic light (4th St). Go
about 4 blocks. Turn left at the next light (Locust
Ave.) Go 1 block.
For I-79 South: Exit #132. Bear left on exit ramp. Travel US 250 North about 4 miles. At the 7th traffic light turn left by the Go Mart (7th St.) Go about 5 blocks. Turn right at the next light (Locust Ave.) Go about 2 blocks.
For Wetzel County: Travel US 250 South to Fairmont. Turn right at the first traffic light on US 19 South (Locust Ave.) Travel about 4 blocks. Straight at the next light (intersection of Locust & 4th St.). Go 1 more block.

LabCorp: 3 lots. 1)Corner of Locust & Emerson St. on Field St. 2) Gravel lot behind their building on Field St. (near the registration area) 3) Paved lot on Field St. near CV News. Lab Corp has a limited work force out on Saturday. They ask that we do not use either the parking lot close to the office on Locust Ave. or the parking lot immediately in front of the office on Field St. We plan to have volunteers and/or police reserves out 2 hours before the race to direct parking.
